SERVICE & REPAIR POLICY

Effective Date: July 16, 2026

1. Assessment & Estimates

All watches, jewellery and handbags submitted for repair, servicing or restoration will undergo an initial assessment by our specialists.

Any quotation or estimate provided before inspection is provisional and may change following cleaning, testing, dismantling or further examination of the item.

Where additional work or replacement parts become necessary, no further chargeable work will be undertaken without your prior approval.

2. Repair Authorisation

By leaving or sending your item to Joshua Bradley Luxury, you authorise us to carry out the agreed repair or service.

Any additional work identified during the repair process will only proceed after your approval has been obtained.

3. Turnaround Times

Estimated completion times are provided as guidance only and are not guaranteed.

Repair times may vary depending on:

  • Availability of replacement parts

  • Manufacturer or supplier lead times

  • Specialist external services

  • The condition of the item

  • Additional faults discovered during repair

Vintage and discontinued watches may require significantly longer repair times where specialist or obsolete components must be sourced or manufactured.

4. Liability

Whilst every reasonable care is taken when handling your property, Joshua Bradley Luxury cannot accept liability for:

  • Pre-existing damage, wear or deterioration.

  • Loose stones, worn claws, stretched bracelets or aged components.

  • Structural weakness caused by age or previous repairs.

  • Damage or deterioration that becomes apparent during dismantling, cleaning, polishing or restoration.

  • Damage caused by previous poor workmanship.

  • Loss or damage occurring whilst an item is with a third-party specialist instructed on your behalf.

  • Loss or damage occurring during transit where the customer has arranged their own courier.

  • Items remaining uncollected for more than 90 days.

5. Service & Repair Warranty

Repairs and servicing include a warranty covering the specific workmanship carried out by Joshua Bradley Luxury together with any components supplied and fitted by us.

This warranty applies only to the work undertaken and does not extend to the entire item or guarantee against unrelated future failures.

  • Watches: 12 months

  • Jewellery Repairs: 6 months

  • Handbag Repairs: 6 months

For vintage watches, our workmanship remains covered for 12 months; however, we cannot guarantee the continued availability of genuine or compatible replacement parts for discontinued or obsolete movements.

Full warranty terms are available separately and form part of this policy.

6. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate contact details.

  • Advising us of any known faults or previous repairs.

  • Retaining their repair receipt.

  • Providing proof of ownership where requested.

  • Inspecting their item upon collection.

Any concerns regarding completed work should be reported as soon as reasonably practicable.

7. Uncollected Items

Completed repairs should be collected promptly.

Items remaining uncollected for more than 90 days following notification may be subject to storage charges.

Where reasonable attempts have been made to contact the owner without success, Joshua Bradley Luxury reserves the right to dispose of or sell the item to recover outstanding charges, subject to applicable law.

8. Personal Belongings

Customers must remove all personal belongings from handbags, watch boxes, travel cases or accessories before leaving items with us.

Joshua Bradley Luxury accepts no responsibility for personal belongings left inside submitted items.

9. Parts & Materials

Where original manufacturer components are unavailable, discontinued or obsolete, we may offer:

  • Genuine pre-owned parts

  • Compatible aftermarket components

  • Custom-manufactured parts

No alternative components will be fitted without customer approval.

We cannot guarantee the future availability of genuine manufacturer parts, particularly for vintage or discontinued watches.

10. Condition of Items Upon Intake

The visible condition of all items will be recorded upon receipt were reasonably possible.

Existing scratches, dents, stretched bracelets, worn claws, loose stones, leather wear, glazing damage, tarnish or other visible defects may be noted.

Cleaning, dismantling or restoration may reveal additional defects not visible during the initial inspection.

11. Gemstones & Delicate Components

Certain gemstones and antique jewellery carry an inherent risk during repair.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Emeralds

  • Opals

  • Pearls

  • Turquoise

  • Heat-sensitive gemstones

  • Antique or delicate settings

Whilst every reasonable care is taken, Joshua Bradley Luxury cannot accept liability for movement, cracking, chipping or breakage resulting from pre-existing weakness or age-related deterioration.

12. Watch Water Resistance

Any watch opened for servicing, repair or battery replacement should be considered not water resistant until it has been resealed and successfully pressure tested.

Where pressure testing cannot be completed due to the age, design, condition of the watch or unavailable components, Joshua Bradley Luxury cannot certify or guarantee water resistance.

Customers should never assume a watch is water resistant unless confirmation has been provided in writing.

13. Cleaning, Polishing & Restoration

Cleaning, polishing and restoration are intended to improve the appearance of an item but cannot restore every item to an "as new" condition.

Deep scratches, dents, staining, oxidation, dye transfer, stretched bracelets, age-related wear and other permanent damage may remain after treatment.

Minor variations in finish or colour may occur depending on the condition and age of the item.

14. Authenticity

Joshua Bradley Luxury does not provide authentication services as part of its repair process.

We reserve the right to refuse work on any item where authenticity cannot reasonably be established or where carrying out the repair may expose the business to legal, reputational or operational risk.

15. Leather, Canvas & Exotic Materials

Leather, coated canvas, suede, nubuck, exotic skins and specialist fabrics may react unpredictably to cleaning, restoration or dyeing.

Perfect colour matching cannot be guaranteed.

Some staining, cracking or age-related deterioration may be permanent.

16. High-Risk or Non-Repairable Items

We reserve the right to decline repairs where an item is considered:

  • Structurally unsafe

  • Excessively worn

  • Heat damaged

  • Beyond economical repair

  • Previously repaired to an unacceptable standard

  • At unreasonable risk of further damage

Inspection or diagnostic charges may still apply where work has already been undertaken.

17. Payment Terms & Deposits

Payment is due upon collection unless otherwise agreed.

Special-order parts, bespoke components or custom-manufactured items may require full or partial payment before work begins.

Ordered components cannot normally be returned once purchased specifically for your repair.

18. Additional Parts During Watch Servicing

Full watch servicing requires complete dismantling of the movement.

Additional worn or damaged components may only become apparent after this process has begun.

Should additional parts be required, an updated quotation will be provided for approval before further work continues.

Where obsolete or discontinued parts are required, additional sourcing time and costs may apply, and repair may not always be possible.

19. Vintage Watches

Many vintage watches contain original components that are several decades old.

Whilst every reasonable effort is made to restore reliable operation, Joshua Bradley Luxury cannot guarantee the future reliability of components that were not replaced during the service.

The failure of unrelated aged components following a repair does not indicate defective workmanship.

Likewise, the availability of genuine replacement parts for vintage movements cannot be guaranteed.

20. Final Inspection & Collection

Every repaired item undergoes inspection and testing before collection or dispatch.

By accepting the completed repair, customers acknowledge the item has been inspected and appears satisfactory at the time of collection.

Any concerns should be reported as soon as reasonably practicable.

21. Postal Repairs

Customers sending items by post do so at their own risk.

We strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured delivery service.

Upon receipt, items will be logged and handled in accordance with this policy.

Return shipping will be arranged using an insured tracked service where available.

Joshua Bradley Luxury cannot accept liability for delays, loss or damage occurring during transit with third-party delivery providers.

22. Right to Refuse Service

Joshua Bradley Luxury reserves the right to refuse any repair where:

  • Suitable parts are unavailable.

  • The item presents an unreasonable risk during repair.

  • The requested repair is technically unsuitable.

  • Safety concerns exist.

  • The customer declines essential recommended work.

23. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited solely to the repair or rectification of the specific workmanship carried out by Joshua Bradley Luxury.

We shall not be liable for failures arising from:

  • Normal wear and tear.

  • Age-related deterioration.

  • Accidental damage.

  • Misuse.

  • Water ingress where water resistance has not been specifically certified.

  • Failure of components unrelated to the repair undertaken.

  • The unavailability of obsolete or discontinued replacement parts.

Nothing within this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
