SELLING TO US POLICY
Effective Date: November 27, 2025
1. Introduction
These terms apply when you sell jewellery, watches, designer handbags, precious metals, or any other items to Joshua Bradley Luxury (“we”, “us”, “our”), whether in person or online. By submitting an item for valuation, inspection, or sale, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2. Requesting a Valuation
To request a valuation, you must contact us using our online form or by emailing sales@joshuabradleyluxury.com with the subject line “ITEM FOR SALE”. You may be required to provide additional photographs, descriptions, and supporting information.
We do not provide valuations without sufficient information and images.
3. Appointments and In-Person Assessments
You may arrange an in-person appointment to have jewellery, watches, handbags, or precious metals assessed. For large collections, private appointments can be arranged outside normal business hours.
In-person assessments do not guarantee an offer until full inspection and checks are completed.
4. Posting Your Items to Us
Do not send items to us unless we have specifically requested them. Unsolicited items will not be reviewed and will be returned at your expense once proof of ownership is provided.
Where postage is authorised, we will advise you on the correct insured courier service to use. Items must be securely packed, and photographic proof of the item, packaging, and shipping label must be taken before dispatch.
5. Packaging and Shipping Requirements
You are responsible for securely packaging your items to protect them in transit. This includes:
-
Sufficient padding using bubble wrap or protective materials
-
A strong, appropriately sized box or padded envelope
-
Including your details and any reference number
-
Clearly labelling both sender and receiver addresses
You must retain your postage receipt and tracking number until the process is complete.
6. Receipt, Inspection and Acceptance
Once received, all items undergo a full inspection to verify condition, authenticity, ownership, and compliance with our standards. If items differ from the description or arrive damaged, we will contact you to discuss the issue.
We reserve the right to refuse items that do not meet our acceptance criteria.
7. Precious Metal Testing and Valuation
Precious metals undergo detailed assessment, including purity testing. Acid testing and other methods may be used where appropriate.
Valuations are based on the current market rate and our pricing policies. If you do not accept the offer, your items will be returned.
8. Authenticity Checks
All items are subject to authenticity verification. This may include:
-
Comparing against brand standards
-
Checking serial numbers and model codes
-
Expert watchmaker inspections
-
Material and gemstone testing
High-value items may need to remain with us for extended assessment. A receipt will be issued, and the item will be securely stored.
9. Lost, Stolen and Legally Restricted Items
All items are checked against stolen property registers, manufacturer records, and applicable law enforcement databases.
We reserve the right to decline, retain, or report any item suspected of being lost, stolen, counterfeit, or legally disputed.
10. Proof of Identity
To sell an item, you must provide:
-
A valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s licence or passport)
-
Proof of address dated within the last 3 months
We cannot purchase any item without valid identification. Copies may be retained for compliance with anti-money-laundering and second-hand goods regulations.
11. Offers and Valuations
All valuations and offers are subject to inspection and verification. We do not guarantee online estimates until the item has been physically examined.
The final amount will be confirmed with you before proceeding.
12. Payment Terms
Payment is made only once inspection, authenticity checks, and stolen-goods checks are complete.
Payments are typically made by bank transfer or another mutually agreed method. Payment is not always immediate, and delays may occur due to extended checks or specialist assessment.
13. Items Declined or Not Accepted
If your item is not accepted or you choose not to proceed, the item will be returned to you.
Return postage costs are your responsibility unless otherwise agreed. We may require proof of ownership before returning any item.
14. Customer Responsibilities
By submitting an item, you confirm that:
-
You are the legal owner and have full right to sell the item
-
The item is genuine, not counterfeit, and not subject to dispute
-
The information you provide is accurate
-
You agree to the inspection, testing, and authentication process
-
You will follow all packaging, postage, and documentation requirements
15. Claims for Loss or Damage in Transit
If a claim must be made with the courier, you must provide:
-
Photos of the item before packaging
-
Photos of the packaging process
-
Photos of the sealed parcel with visible label
We will assist with courier investigations but are not responsible for loss or damage caused during shipping unless postage was arranged directly by us.
16. Privacy and Confidentiality
All information and documentation provided during the selling process are treated with strict confidentiality and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
17. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your sale or shipment of items. Our liability is limited to the agreed sale amount for accepted items.
18. Amendments to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or amend these terms at any time. Updated terms apply to all future transactions after publication.
19. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
